Does anyone get heart palpitations with their GERD or reflux? Benham Yep used to be all the time. Back and forwards to emergency with it even seen a cardiologist but my heart is in great shape so won't give me medication for it. I take a 400mg magnesium tablet at bed time every night which helps it greatly.

Does anyone get aching neck and headache following bad attack of reflux? I have an extremely sore throat that looks very inflamed/blistered from bad acid reflux last night, accompanied by a horrible headache and neck ache. I don't think my throat has ever been this bad from it before. Is there anything I can do for the pain?

Patricia O'Keeffe Sounds like symptoms caused by extraesophageal reflux disease, aka silent reflux, aka laryngopharyngeal reflux or bile acid reflux as well as ordinary GERD gastroesophageal disease. Maybe worth a referral to a ear nose and throat specialist for a secondary opinion and treatment, although your gastroenterologist oe even usual treating doctor should be able to advise you what to do.

Emma Rose Marriott I saw an ENT, he said my larynx was very inflamed from acid irritation and as a result my omeprazole was increased to 40mg.

I had an endoscopy two weeks ago and it was normal, which surprised me.I have severe restructure anorexia (no vomiting), so I assume that this is partly due to muscle wasting, but nothing was mentioned about having weakness.

A gastroenterologist is the specialist doctor who performs the endoscopies.. a gastrocospy looks into your esophagus and stomach and part orf the small intestine and a colonoscopy looks into the rectum, sigmoid colon and all of the colon. Usually your ordinary doctor refers you to gastroenterologist for investigations.. So talk it over with your usual doctor.
